To Waste My Heart on Fear No More

“May I have the courage, today, to live the life that I would love,

to postpone my dream no longer, but do at last what I came here for,

and waste my heart on fear no more.”

John O’Donohue

Reflections of My Life

Yesterday was a good day. It seemed different somehow, one of those days when everything goes right. The traffic lights were all on green, other drivers gave way to me, and people in general were helpful and friendly. One particular moment stands out in my memory: as I came out of a shop in the precinct, a kind man in workman’s clothes held the door open for me. He smiled the most beautiful smile, so warm, and his eyes spoke volumes. I smiled back as I thanked him. “My pleasure” he replied. In that moment I felt touched by the Divine, as if it was God smiling at me.  I felt as though I was walking on air for the rest of the day.

This morning it struck me anew that changing the world begins on a personal level, with us as individuals.  All creation exists within the Web of Life. Each single thread of this web has an interconnectedness, within which we are all bound to each other. Everything that we do on a personal level affects others within this Living Web. It can be compared to the ‘ripple effect’, where one small pebble produces many ripples.

We must all play our parts in changing the destiny of our world. It will not happen without us.

“The life I touch…will touch another life, and that in turn another,

until who knows…in what far place my touch will be felt.”

Frederick Buechner

Explore, Dream, Discover

“Twenty years from now,
you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do,
than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbour,
catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore, dream, discover!”
Mark Twain

A Message to my Heart:

“Attune yourself to the Beauty and Peace which are present in Nature.

Life already flows in Perfection. Allow yourself to be embraced within Her arms.

Ask and you shall receive.  Knock and it shall be opened unto you.

You are essence of Spirit, and as such are bound to Me for all Eternity.

I will nurture you.  I will cherish you.

Balance and Harmony are intrinsic within My Creation.

Fall naturally into that Flow of Goodness.

Allow yourself to be upheld, for –

I AM upholding you.”

Let The Sun Set On The Past

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

It is 2.30am on Sunday morning and I should be fast asleep.  But I need to clear my mind, to write down my thoughts, and I want to share them with you:

I realised yesterday that I was holding on to the past, trying to take it forward with me into the future.  It doesn’t work.  I tend to hang onto certain things way past their sell-by date.  I don’t mean in a physical way. I’m not a material hoarder by any means.  This is about emotional hoarding.  I have attachments, a need to hold on tightly to things that have served me in years gone by.

But they have no part in my future, and now I must release them and let them go.  I must allow the sun to set on my past.

It is time to move forward into a bright new future.  Clutching onto the past limits forward movement.  Progress is impeded. Life is for living fully in the present moment, not for dwelling in the dead and buried past. What an important lesson I have learned!!  And what a relief and a release!!  Now I can go back to sleep. Thanks for listening. See you again soon.

the blue sky my fretted dome shall be,

Shall be the incense I will yield to thee.”
