Only Believe

This morning I came across a message to myself that I had previously scribbled on a post-it:

Don’t sell yourself short.

You can do it.  You can do anything.

Only BELIEVE in the depths of your being.

Live it.  Breathe it.  Act as though it already is.

We Are Who We Believe We Are

Excerpt From My Journal 12th April 2012

WE ARE WHO WE BELIEVE WE ARE.  All obstacles are only in the mind. There are no limitations apart from those the mind invents. If I believe in those limitations, if I truly believe that they are tangible and that they really do exist, then so they are, and so they do.

To believe in anything is to feed it, nourish it, strengthen it.  Believe in obstacles and they will bar the way.  Know, instead, that they are only fleeting inventions of the mind, and so they will be.

It is the lower mind that sets boundaries and puts limitations on our dreams.  The heart is forever free-thinking, willing to take chances, to live its dreams.

We can change our destiny, and that of the world, by changing our thoughts and beliefs.  We can turn any situation around, because nothing is ever set in stone, even if it is written in the stars, and even if it has been prophesied for millennia.

Across the Threshold to 2017

The sun has risen on the first day of the first month of a new year.  A new day has dawned, heralding new beginnings, a fresh start, a clean slate, and no regrets.

Life is what we make it.  We are the architect of our own destiny, the captain of our own ship.  We create our own future.  So let’s make it an amazing one.

Miracles and magical experiences await us on the horizon.  We may not see them yet, but they’re there.  Just BELIEVE!!

Happy New Year, Everyone!!

To Waste My Heart on Fear No More

“May I have the courage, today, to live the life that I would love,

to postpone my dream no longer, but do at last what I came here for,

and waste my heart on fear no more.”

John O’Donohue

The Day of the Sun

Sun-day morning. Lovely!! I’m sitting here in my warm, comfortable bed, sipping a mug of strong, hot tea and counting my blessings. I’m dwelling on the beauty and goodness in the world.  It doesn’t mean that I don’t see the world’s pain, just that I choose not to focus upon it. For according to the Law of Attraction, we get more of what we focus on.

I was listening to a recording last night on the teachings of the Indian guru, Paramahansa Yogananda [1893-1952]. He advocated forgiveness, kindness and compassion as being essentials for right living. These qualities stem from heart level, the core of our being.  As the wise King Solomon of Israel said: “As he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

The more we demonstrate these qualities in our lives, the closer we come to  the consciousness of the Master Jesus, who consistently chose to express these intrinsic values throughout his life, even when he was suffering the horrors of crucifixion.

When the disciple, Peter, asked Jesus if he should forgive others as many as seven times, Jesus replied that he should rather forgive seventy times seven. I don’t think that he was literally saying that we must forgive exactly 490 times, but rather that we should not put limitations on our forgiveness of others.

There are no limitations to unconditional love, which only seeks the best for others, which constantly demonstrates unconditional forgiveness, kindness and compassion.

Sun-day. The day of the Sun. The special day for shining forth the warm rays of Light and Love from our hearts, to illuminate our beautiful world. As Mother Teresa said:“If you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.”

Earth Pilgrims and Kindred Spirits

IMG_4877It never ceases to amaze me that there are so many kindred spirits here on WordPress and within the social networking hub; numerous gifted individuals sharing their beautiful art forms, or their uplifting words or inspirational experiences.  Such beauty cannot fail to uplift our world.

I’m not a brilliant writer, neither am I a professional photographer, but when I woke in the early hours of yesterday morning, a quote came into my head:

“Use what talent you possess.

The woods would be very quiet

if no birds sang except those that sang best.”

 Henry Van Dyke

And so, from now on, my work will be my Legacy of Beauty, Peace, Hope and Love for our world.  It is an unconditional gift from my heart, copyright free, and you may freely share it if you wish.

I truly believe that what we focus on grows.  With more and more of us focusing on beauty, peace, hope and love – what a difference this is making to humankind, even if we cant yet see the visible evidence.

We are earth pilgrims, travelling the road of life, shining our Light to illuminate the dark spaces.  And we SHALL overcome, for Light always overcomes darkness.

Thank you all for sharing your passions and creativity.  You are an inspiration for me. Have the most wonderful SUN-DAY.

Reflections of My Life

Yesterday was a good day. It seemed different somehow, one of those days when everything goes right. The traffic lights were all on green, other drivers gave way to me, and people in general were helpful and friendly. One particular moment stands out in my memory: as I came out of a shop in the precinct, a kind man in workman’s clothes held the door open for me. He smiled the most beautiful smile, so warm, and his eyes spoke volumes. I smiled back as I thanked him. “My pleasure” he replied. In that moment I felt touched by the Divine, as if it was God smiling at me.  I felt as though I was walking on air for the rest of the day.

This morning it struck me anew that changing the world begins on a personal level, with us as individuals.  All creation exists within the Web of Life. Each single thread of this web has an interconnectedness, within which we are all bound to each other. Everything that we do on a personal level affects others within this Living Web. It can be compared to the ‘ripple effect’, where one small pebble produces many ripples.

We must all play our parts in changing the destiny of our world. It will not happen without us.

“The life I touch…will touch another life, and that in turn another,

until who knows…in what far place my touch will be felt.”

Frederick Buechner
